Come out June 18th as Raleighwood Cinema and Grill welcomes stand-up comedy for the first time!  In association with Cure For The Mondays ® Comedy, be there as Raleighwood welcomes three very funny comedians to the stage.

Matt White  (@HeadClown) – His credits include winning The Lazy Pirate’s 2013 “Last Comic Standing Contest”, DSI Comedy’s 2013 “Carolina’s Funniest Comic”, and 2012’s  “Port City’s Top Comic ”.  He was also a semi-finalist in the 2013 American Black Film Festival’s “Comedy Wings Competition” (Hollywood CA).  On top of winning multiple competitions, White has also performed in comedy festivals around the country, such as “Laugh Your Asheville Off” and “The Ventura Comedy Festival”.

Matt has worked with some big names in the industry such as, Alonzo Bodden, Tig Notaro, Nephew Tommy, Tom Simmons, Joe Clair, Landry, Tony Woods and Eddie Brill.

JM (@JMJustcomedy) – He is a regular host at the Comedy Zone in Clayton, NC, and Cure For The Mondays Comedy Night at Tir Na Nog Irish Pub in Raleigh, NC.  As a member of the “Unusual Suspects”, and as a solo act, JM has performed throughout the Southeast featuring for the likes of Kurt Green and Shaun Jones.  He appeared in the New South Comedy Festival at the end of 2014.

James Hodge (@jamesbhodge) - James Hodge is a comic. He thinks Bios are gross. He's been the middle act for a bunch of people you've heard of like Dave Chappelle and Marc Maron and Bobcat Goldthwait and a Tom Petty Cover band called The Free Ballers. (that last one Might be made up? Might not be though.) I've got (crap this is supposed to be in the 3rd person.) James has shows coming up in tons of places, Ohio, Michigan, Virginia, North Carolina, Florida, and New York. You should probably check him out at one of them. Bios are gross. James has gotten some pretty decent articles written about him and if you watch Dawson's Creek really closely you might see him in the background of a few scenes. (Or you might not.) Fingers crossed that someone is reading this "Bio" while hungover. Yes, drunky drunk, James does hope last night was fun for you, and yes, reading this was an absolute waste of your time. Now go buy a ticket to one of his shows.

July 16th!  We will be back and even bigger than we were in June!  Join us and Raleighwood as "Big A" Andy Forrester headlines a very funny show along with Feature act Brent Blakeney!  You can get your tickets now at the link below!

Andy Forrester (@comicbiga)
Andy Forrester's brand of off the wall humor has made him one of the fastest rising comedians in the Southeast. His high energy and animated comedy has landed him spots opening for such headliners as Rob Schneider, Dave Coulier and most recently Kevin Pollak and Greg Giraldo. It's his original and appetizing humor that always leaves audiences begging for more. He is sure to make you laugh as he makes himself look like a boob, pokes fun at all that he sees and everyone he knows.

Audiences and fellow comedians alike always comment how "Naturally Funny" BiG"A" is, and are amazed that he can bring the laughs while keeping it clean. In 2008 BiG"A" won the title of Ultimate Comic at the Idiot Box in Greensboro, NC. In 2011 he took part in the Cape Fear Comedy Festival and was chosen to compete in Vegas in the World Series of Comedy. He continues to perform at comedy clubs, country clubs, colleges and corporate events across the country.

Brent Blakeney (@sixsevencomedy)
A product of the 80's and made in the USA, Brent has been in comedy most of his life. His first comedic performance occurred when he was three years old. He took the stage at an Elk's Lodge in Glen Burnie, Maryland, with no prompt or invitation, said nothing, and just began to pee his pants. Over the years the peeing tapered off, but the desire to entertain still remained.

Hard work has paid off with Brent having the opportunity to work with, and learn from, some of the best in the business. Brent has worked with stars such as Bobby Lee  (Mad TV), Kevin Heffernan, and Steve Lemme (Super Troopers/ Beerfest) , as well as legendary comedians Al Goodwin, Don "DC" Curry, Bill Burr, Josh Blue, and Brian Regan.  A previous winner of Richmond, VA's "Clash of the Comics", and a finalist in "Carolina's Funniest Comic", Brent presents a "larger than life" experience at all of his shows.
